For All Hand-painted Surfaces of Placemats, Rings, Coasters & Linen Baskets
Wipe clean with a damp sponge; you may apply pressure, but don't scrub. We use the highest quality acrylic paints to paint the fabric surface of our products made from repurposed auto upholstery. We further poly-coat each piece by hand to ensure the best possible sponge-cleanability. However, for difficult spots, you may pre-treat with laundry or dish detergent, than use a soft brush, lather than rinse.
For our Botanic Napkins and Tablecloths
Machine wash and dry warm, pre=treating any questionable stains prior to washing by placing a dab of laundry detergent or SHOUT onto the spot. Remove from dryer as close to end of cycle for best wrinkle-free results. You'll love how these perform, year after year.
Warnings
Safe for extended use on tables made of glass, granite, polyurethan finishes, antique and older finished wood (10 years or older) tables. However, please be advised that the bottoms of our placemats are vinyl (the repurposed auto upholstery), which can interact unfavorably with a small percentage of wood finishes that haven't fully cured (and such finishes can take up to 5-10 years). To avoid any issues, with new finishes that are high gloss, laquers or shellacs, do not leave placemats directly on the table for more than 24-36 hours. We recommend caution on tables finished within 10 years.
Instructions
Many of our customers have asked us to include product instructions since many of Carole's designs are given as gifts. We have decided to add these here so that you may print them out for easy future reference. This way everyone can remember, practice, and share these fun techniques.
